Summary 2009 ( 1MB )

Professional Learning Forum

In economically critical times companies that sustain and impart their knowledge have a significant advantage. AT the "Professional Learning Forum" of the HRM Expo, HR and knowledge managers learned which strategic aspects currently play an important role in this matter.

Keynote Speakers

For the first time in 2009 our internationally well-known keynote speakers held their lecture in their own forum.
  • Mr. Richard D. Lewis: Gaining Competitive Advantage from Cultural Understanding in Times of Crisis
  • Prof. Dr. Holger Rust: Die "Dritte Kultur" im Management: HR-Konzepte für die ZukunftOrganisations in a Culture of Innovation
  • PhD Nancy J. Adler: Global Leadership: No Longer Men Alone
  • Mr. Roger Harrop: staying in the Helicopter® - the real job of the HR professional in a downturn
  • Mr. Adjiedj Bakas: BEYOND THE CRISIS – The Future of Capitalism
  • Unfortunately the lecture "Markt und Management im Wandel: Sinnstiftung als Motor wirtschaftlichen Handelns" from Prof. Dr. Peter Kruse was cancelled but he was competently replaced by Mr. Boris Grundl.
  • HRM.de Flight Tour

The online portal hrm.de offered free guided tours, the hrm.de- flights, through the exhibition. The flights made it easy to explore the exhibition. During 1-minute-long-elevator-pitches the exhibitors could make a short introduction of themselves, their products and services and the person to contact for further questions.

    HR Next Generation Award

One highlight of the last exhibition day was the award show for the HR Next Generation Award. Karin Geeb, responsible for the HR basic programmes at MVV Energie AG Mannheim took the trophy home. The prize was awarded for the first time by the organiser spring Messe Management and the Personalmagazin (Haufe Mediengruppe).

    17. Deutscher Personalwirtschaftspreis

Especially in economically critical times strategic HR management pays off. Just then talented, dedicated and loyal employees are the key to secure a company's success.
This was proven by the winners of the 17. Deutschen Personalwirtschaftspreises ( 17th German HRM Award), presented on the second day of the exhibition. The awards were given to three companies that demonstrated excellence in practical problem solving: Bertelsmann AG, Union Investment and Bayer AG.

    MeetingPoint

There were no classic presentations at the HRM Expo's MeetingPoint but interactive, specific conversations in an informal atmosphere. They were based on a practical issue from everyday work, which was brought forward by HR experts. Presented by our moderator Karin Huber, HR expert herself, the exciting dialogues sometimes evolved into a spontaneous short-time symposia with several participants. The way the moderation was conducted made it very easy for people to get involved and lively conversations among colleagues lead to new perspectives and solutions.

    Action Zones Training

There were two action zones "Training" at the HRM Expo. In these special areas, coaches presented parts from their seminars and workshops, thus encouraging the visitors to participate and learn by experiencing - in contrast to passively visiting the exhibition stands or listening to presentations. In two action-/presentation zones there were various events in thirty-minute intervals, which made passing visitors stop and encouraged interested visitors to participate.¶

    Networking Evening

For the 10th year anniversary of the HRM Expo the exhibition organiser presented a festive highlight. At the second night of the exhibition spring Messe Management invited all the visitors for a networking evening to the Brauhaus Früh. The unique cologne atmosphere was used to deepen the contacts that have been made during the day or to make new contact. Food and drinks were served by the traditional waiters called Köbes and the band “Poker kings

    Exhibitioner's Evening

10 years of HRM Expo - that was the motto of this year’s exhibitors’ party. After showing an anniversary movie which honored the exhibitors and the makers of the expo, Alexander Petsch, Managing Director of spring Messe Management, thanked the long time supporters of the HRM Expo. But of course this was not the end of the night. After a sumptuous buffet, some of the guests were brave enough to hit the dance floor to the sound of “Sweat”.

    Child Care

The Organizer spring Messe Management also had thought about the balance between exhibition and personal life of the visitors: those who wanted to visit Zukunft Personal 2009 with their children but still have time to explore the fair on their own, could use the on-site child care from ”familienservice”. The caring professionals were available daily throughout the exhibition opening hours to look after children from age 1-12. The kids could play, draw pictures or read a book while their parents had the opportunity to effectively use their time at the expo.¶
